Rawtenstall is a town at the centre of the Rossendale Valley in Lancashire, England.

Rawtenstall is a lovely Town that has its own steam railway that runs to and from Bury. Here you will also find theLast Temperance Bar in th UK where you can get sarsaparilla, blood tonic and many more herbal brews, childhood drinks and sweets. A temperance bar was popular as a fashionable place to hang out during the 19th and early 20th century as it was a place to abstain from alcohol.

Rossendale even has its own dry Ski Slope if you fancy learning or keeping your hand in.

My time was spent looking after to gorgeous, character filled but gentle dogs.

Oscar is a solid 10 year old bulldog with an amazing character.  He is getting too old for kennels and thus the main reason for his owners Denise and Graeme not wishing to leave him at a kennel during their time away.

Then there is also Oscar’s pal Billy who is 4 years old and a very timid and loveable rescue Dog.  Both dogs are very loving, extremely chilled out and enjoy a lot of cuddles and sofa hogging. They were an absolute joy to take for walks.

During my visit, I was fortunate enough to be present for Billy’s Birthday and naturally special treats and party were in order for the Birthday Boy !!

Here’s what the owners said:

What can we say, what a fantastic house sitter.

The dogs Oscar & Billy took to him straight away and didn't look back when we walked away to go on our holidays.

The house was immaculate when we got back home, with Anthony leaving us beautiful flowers and chocolates to welcome us back home.

Anthony was a very warm and honest person who you took to straight away.

Anthony made sure we would arrive home to a nice warm, clean home,he even laundered his bed for us.

What a gentleman and hope that we have made a dear friend of this fantastic guy.

Would definitely have him house sit again.
